Douglas Goodman Say – Stay blessed and have a wonderful week

Pastor Douglas Goodman is the head Pastor alongside his wife Pastor Erica Goodman at V2V Community Church, a non-denominational church based in Harrow, London.

The word of God mentions so many wonderful promises that says that Jesus paid the price for us, not only for our sins did he pay the price but he paid for so much more in order for us to receive forgiveness for our sins, freedom from condemnation, health, healing, cleansing and ultimately to restore our fellowship with the Father God.

1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full

All the promises in the bible have been freely given to us, however in order to receive all that is promised we must trust and believe that what God has promised us is ours through Christ Jesus.

To believe simply means ‘ to trust and to have faith in something or someone’. Once I surrendered my heart, my life to Christ and got baptized in the Holy Spirit everything in my life began to change. The more I spend time with God in worship, prayer, studying the word and sitting quietly in God’s presence the more changes I see in my life.

There have been times in life where I simply tell myself  ‘that i have only one option trust God or fail’ as those words came out of my mouth God reminded me that I was declaring victory which is found Psalm 118:17 which says I shall live and not die to declare the works of the living God. What a revelation! Although I did not feel that anything was changing in me immediately, as God is faithful to his word today I can say He never fails.

Before you and I can experience victories over our enemies or over anything that exalts itself against the word of God we must totally trust, believe and declare the truth of the word of God only, in order to see it become a reality in our lives. The Bible is a spiritual book and by calling things that don’t exist as though they already existed (Romans 4:17) we are pulling the promises of God from the spiritual realm into the natural realm. However this does not mean that we can have anything we want but it means we can have what the word of God says is ours through Christ Jesus.

I want to challenge you this year to surrender your total being (heart, mind, soul, life) to trust God and His word. Begin by taking God at his word, meditate on His word in your mind, trust His word and your spirit and body will become stronger, through the strength that He will provide in the midst of any storm you will find a place or serenity your victory will soon be a reality.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I thank God always, simply because when I sit back and look around me I am surrounded by reasons to be thankful.

As always I close by encouraging you to add seeing others being reconciled unto Christ a priority.

Let’s show our gratitude for the sacrifice on the cross of Calvary by sharing the good news that Jesus Christ is alive.

It should be a priority for all of us to see heaven full and that can only happen when we develop a passion for the lost and speak boldly for Christ.

Stay blessed and have a wonderful week.
