Spiritual warfare is an essential part of the Christian walk

Spiritual warfare is an essential part of the Christian walk. It’s not something that should be left to only a few people (intercessory leaders or team) to engage in. Regardless of how much we grow as Christians warfare will always be a part of our lives. We must simply learn to fight back, the advantage of our growth should be seen in the effective tools we employ in warfare.

Many people do not like to engage in spiritual warfare. For some it’s a tiresome exercise, others leave it to the ‘prayer-meeting’ Christians to do all the fighting, others just feel if they don’t engage in the battle the devil will simply ignore them.

The reality is whichever the reasoning it boils down to the fact that many simply do not understand the authority available to them as believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and the power in His name.

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Luke 10:9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you”.

Those two scriptures tell me we have the power to influence and in many respects control the spiritual atmosphere around us, in our homes and in our neighborhoods.

Remember the bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds

Did you know that many situations occur in our lives simply because we can’t seem to put aside time daily in prayer and take authority over the demonic activity that is always on the move around us.

A considerable number of people believe they have to engage in hours of warfare for their prayers to have any effect however I can tell you that time is not the issue, it’s your faith and effective use of the word of God, praying for hours is not always the answer if that is what is holding you back then please read this and be liberated of your fear today!

Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do.

It takes concise, focused prayer to get the job done.

I encourage you to take time out daily to pray, especially in the night time as this is when demonic activity is functioning the most. Be bold, have no fear and use your authority to silence the enemy.

Start your prayer in worship and check your heart (is there any unforgiveness).

Put on the full armor of God Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Remember that you have angels warring on your behalf and when you finish be sure to cover yourself, your family, your home and your church with the blood of Jesus to block any retaliation from the enemy.

I can personally testify to the power of prayer, individually and collectively so believe me when I tell you that it avails much.

Stay blessed, stay preyed up and have a wonderful week.
